In New Mexico I visited Chaco Canyon, Bandelier NP and Santa Fe and Taos I visited the ancestral home sites of the ancestral Pueblan peoples in Chaco Canyon (40 miles of poorly maintained dirt roads). These sites were much more sophisticated than the newer pueblan sites in Banbelier NP. See photos above. The people of Chaco Canyon were very sophisticated and had trade with peoples as far as South America. The next couple of pictures are from Chaco Canyon, I visited my friend s Jim Dyke and Cindy Blackwell friends from graduate school in Tuscan. We visited Kit Carson’s home and grave in Taos . He was one of my childhood heroes. O.n my next page I will add more comments on each picture. I will be starting that new page tonight.
